Montagu Private Equity announces management changes

London|11 January 2010

Montagu Private Equity ("Montagu"), one of Europe's leading private equity companies, today announces an important management change. Chris Masterson, Chief Executive, will become Chairman and Jason Gatenby, Director, will succeed him as Chief Executive.

This move will free Chris Masterson up to focus more on strategic and investment related matters at what Montagu believes will be a "once in a generation" time of opportunity.

As Chairman, Chris Masterson will continue to have overall responsibility for the firm's strategy, ensuring continuity of the Montagu investment philosophy. Jason Gatenby, as the new Chief Executive, will undertake much of the investment and operational responsibilities previously held by Chris Masterson.

Jason Gatenby has been responsible for some of Montagu's most successful investments such as Dignity, Cory and Open.

These appointments have the unanimous support of the Montagu Directors.

Commenting, Chris Masterson said:
"I am delighted to announce Jason's promotion. Jason has an outstanding investment record - he is responsible for some of Montagu's best realisations and has also played an increasingly important role in managing our investments and making investment decisions.
This organisational change is a natural evolution for the firm, which I believe will considerably enhance our effectiveness. I am excited about Montagu's future and remain fully committed to the firm - I will not be winding down my involvement. "

Commenting, Jason Gatenby said:
"Montagu Private Equity has an outstanding record of successful investing in high quality companies and I am looking forward to playing my part in the next stage of Montagu's development."
