Siemens sells ADB Airfield Solutions to Montagu Private Equity
Montagu Private Equity, one of Europe’s leading private equity
companies, is to buy ADB Airfield Solutions (“ADB”), the Siemens AG
airfield lighting business. ADB offers products, solutions and
services for visual guidance in airfields worldwide. The parties
have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transaction. The sale
is expected to be finalized in October, subject to antitrust
approval.
Acquired by Siemens in 1987, ADB has been a significant innovative
player in the airfield lighting sector since its establishment in
1947. With long-established customer relationships, more than 2,000
airports around the world have been equipped with systems from ADB.
The company is headquartered in Brussels and employs approximately
400 people in around 10 locations worldwide.
“This sale is part of Siemens’ consistent strategy to focus on core
business. ADB is part of the Mobility Division which through a
"Complete Mobility" approach is concentrating on the goal of
linking up different transportation systems in order to carry
people and goods more efficiently to their destinations”, said Jörg
Schneppendahl, CEO Siemens Mobility Division Traffic
Solutions.
Sylvain Berger-Duquene, Director at Montagu Private Equity, said:
“We were attracted to ADB Airfield Solutions due to its substantial
growth potential. Ongoing innovation, a strong market position and
an outstanding management team mean that we are delighted to back
this company.“
