Leading French publisher of horse racing newspapers.
In July 2004, Montagu led and arranged the Management
Buyout of Editions en Direct and ID Editions from its
founders. The group is the leading French publisher of horse racing
newspapers.
Headquartered in Aix-en-Provence (Southern France), the group
publishes a wide range of titles covering all segments of the horse
racing newspapers, and provides a wealth of information for all
horse racing players. It sold over 50 million newspapers in 2003
with six daily horse racing newspapers (Tiercé Magazine, Bilto,
Paris Courses, Matin Courses, La Gazette des Courses, le Favori),
two monthly horse racing magazines (Turf Magazine and Stato) and
Lotofoot, a weekly football betting magazine.
In March 2005, Montagu led and arranged the add-on acquisition for
Editions en Direct of the Socpresse horse racing press (SHR). SHR
publishes two major horse racing newspapers: Paris Turf and
Week-End, together with two small regional weeklies.
The combined group, renamed Groupe Turf Editions, is the
unrivalled leading French publisher of horse racing newspapers with
more than 80 million newspapers sold annually.
